As a FAIRMED children’s sponsor for 30 francs or a FAIRMED life-saver for 10 francs a month you can play your part in helping children and their families in Asia and Africa gain fair access to good health. You will be helping us in the fight against neglected diseases because:

• They afflict 1 billion people around the world.
• They kill more than 200’000 people every year, the majority of which are children.
• Some three million people suffer from severe disabilities caused by leprosy alone.

 

With your contribution, we will be able to provide these people with access to good health.

• For example, we are setting up health services for the Pygmy people in south-east Cameroon.
• For example, we are establishing simple communal pharmacies in remote areas of the Ivory Coast, so that the people there are no longer forced to die from curable diseases.
• For example, we are supporting self-help groups of people disabled by leprosy in rural India, enabling them to safeguard themselves against injuries, ulcers and loss of limbs.

FAIRMED children’s sponsor

With 30 francs a month you will enable 7 children to receive early treatment for Buruli ulcer every year. Or protect 45 children from neglected diseases such as bilharzia and its consequences such as fatigue, lack of concentration, anaemia, malnutrition and susceptibility to infections that result in illness or death.
