Nepal’s beauty—with its majestic mountains, temples, and spectacular landscapes—is world-renowned. But away from the well-known trekking routes and tourist destinations, a different reality emerges: millions of people live in remote villages, often in poverty and without access to medical care. In these places, where illness becomes an existential threat, help is often far away. This is exactly where FAIRMED steps in, ensuring that even people in the most remote regions have the chance to lead healthy lives.

After years of conflict, the healthcare system in the Central African Republic has been severely weakened. Many villages are difficult to reach, there is a severe shortage of medical personnel, maternal and child mortality rates are among the highest in the world, and diseases such as leprosy are widespread. Here, FAIRMED brings healthcare to people who never have the chance to see a doctor.

In Cameroon, many people live in poverty, in remote areas, and far from the nearest health facility. Neglected tropical diseases such as Buruli and yaws are widespread, and maternal and child mortality rates are high. Indigenous communities such as the Baka are particularly affected. Through our work, we bring medical aid to where it is needed most—even to the ends of the earth.

In northern Sri Lanka, many people continue to suffer from the consequences of the civil war, persistent poverty, and inadequate health care. Diseases such as leprosy and living with a disability shape the daily lives of many of those affected. Where medical care is lacking and support is hard to come by, FAIRMED steps in to provide local people with urgently needed access to health care.
